Not as good as some of his later stuff but still an interesting read. You see things through the eyes of a Japanese woman whose daughter has committed suicide many years after they had relocated to England. Mostly reminiscences of life in Nagasaki after the bomb. There is a big perspective shift at the very end which is quite surprising and contrary to my usual policy I won't give it away since to do so would ruin the experience of reading it.
As with most of Ishiguro's work, it's all about the mood.
